NRW promotes investments in ICT hardware and software

NRW supports small and medium-sized enterprises in their digitalization and promotes investments in hardware and software with grants of between 4,000 and 25,000 euros.

To ensure that the new start succeeds after the crisis, the state is supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in their digitalization and promoting investments in specific hardware and software: medium-sized companies can receive grants of between 4,000 and 25,000 euros; installation and instruction are also promoted in the course of the investment. Small companies receive a funding quota of 50 percent, medium-sized ones of 30 percent. For this expansion of the Mittelstand Innovativ & Digital (MID) program, the state government is making 30 million euros available from the NRW bailout fund until the end of 2022.

Economics and Digital Minister Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart: "The pandemic has shown how important digitalisation is for small and medium-sized enterprises. Investments in the modernisation of businesses and the further development of business models are of outstanding importance in order to overcome the economic consequences in the long term and to make SMEs more resilient. That's why the state is supporting more than 1,000 companies so they can emerge stronger from the crisis."

Up to 130 registered companies will be randomly selected in a monthly lottery process. Registration will be open from 12 July 2021 here: The first draw will take place on August 1. In the second stage, the selected companies will be able to submit their application online.

Further information on the new MID-Invest funding programme will be provided by information events online on July 16 and 22, 2021 in cooperation with the NRW.Innovations partners and NRW.BANK.
