Hydrogen IPCEI: Funding for 61 projects

"We want to become number 1 in the world in hydrogen technologies": BMWi and BMVI launch 62 large-scale hydrogen projects

The Federal Republic of Germany wants to become number 1 in the world in hydrogen technologies, according to Federal Minister of Economics Peter Altmeier. Accordingly, the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) and the Federal Ministry of Transport (BMVI) have now jointly selected large-scale hydrogen projects to receive government funding as part of a European hydrogen project called IPCEI - Important Projects of Common European Interest. More than 8 billion euros in federal and state funds will now be made available for the 62 German projects, which were selected from more than 230 project outlines received. In total, investments of 33 billion euros are to be triggered, with more than 20 billion euros coming from private investors. 50 project outlines were selected from the Ministry of Economics, while the Federal Ministry of Transport is funding 12 projects in the mobility sector. The projects cover the entire value chain - from hydrogen production and transport to applications in industry. The location map as pdf is available here: Download location map
