VDMA calls for access to public procurement of third markets

VDMA welcomes the agreement on IPI in the Committee of Permanent Representatives of the Member States. Companies can now get better access to the public procurement market in third countries.

The Committee of Permanent Representatives of the Governments of the EU Member States finally agreed on a Council position on the International Procurement Instrument (IPI) on 2 June 2021, which means that the trilogue negotiations between the EU institutions can hopefully begin after the summer. VDMA welcomes in principle this agreement, because European companies in the machinery sector will then have better access to the public procurement market of third countries. read more
