VDMA President calls for revision of climate package
VDMA President Carl Martin Welcker criticises the climate package announced by the Grand Coalition: CO2 prices are set too low.
At an industry conference in Berlin organised by the Federal Ministry of Economics together with trade associations and trade unions, the VDMA President called on the Grand Coalition to comprehensively revise its climate package.
In particular, Welcker criticized the "lack of reliability" of the targeted climate protection, because the CO2 price was set too low. In addition, Welcker stressed that the proposed tax system would not focus enough on CO2 avoidance.
