China Management Meeting for Agricultural Machinery
The 2020 VDMA China Management Meeting (CMM) of Agricultural Machinery was held online on June 3rd. The web meeting attracted over 60 participants from members in China and abroad.
Ms. Claudia Barkowsky, Chief Representative of the VDMA China Representative Office in Beijing, gave an update on the current travel situation between Germany and China. Mr. Alexander Haus, Head International Department, introduced trends in agriculture and the related machinery sector. Kai Schleyerbach, Senior Research Director from Kleffmann-Kynetec presented the latest business and investment barometer report. Finally, Mr. Zhang, Emission Regulation Manager from MTU China Co., Ltd. gave an update about the China Non Road IV Regulation and Dr. Zhang Jinwang, Managing Director from CLAAS Agricultural Machinery (Shandong) Co. Ltd, gave a presentation of status report on cooperative farming initiative.
In general, despite the Corona Pandemic, the agricultural machinery in 2020 is experiencing recovery after COVID-19 and major manufacturers already benefited from such market pickup. Large tractor and medium tractor both realized upward production in the first five months (35.7% and 5.0%, respectively).
