6th Metallurgy China Management Meeting in 2016

6th Metallurgy China Management Meeting took place on the 22th June 2016 by German Centre.

The meeting dealt with the following topics:

  • “Industrie 4.0” in the metallurgical equipment industry on current status and development
  • Energy and resource efficiency by thermo process technology
  • The true meaning of local sourcing

In the beginning of the meeting Dr. Timo Würz from VDMA presented the topic “Sustainable and smart Metallurgical equipment” with the example of “Industrie 4.0”.

He explained the meaning of “Industrie 4.0” as the forth industrial revolution in which the use of cyber-physical systems will get possible. The previous revolutions were the “introduction of mechanical production facilities with the help of water and steam power systems”, “mass production by division of labor with the help of electrical energy” and “the use of electronic and IT systems that further automate production”. Also he presented the “Industry 4.0 – Readiness Study Self check for companies (online)” of IMPULS, in which he showed up the six core areas of this self-check and the levels for the readiness of “Industrie 4.0”. This six core areas include employees, data-driven services, strategy and organization, smart products, operations and factory.

Professor Cang Daqiang of CMES held his presentation about “energy and resource efficiency by thermo process technology”.

He explained that there is a big future demand in China. China needs to get new treatment processes with for example lower temperature and wasted heat recovery. Also they need new and updated equipment like burners. New topics have to be developed. As an example clean coal combustion, emission in process control and minimizing PM2.5.

In the end there was the presentation of Mr. Seoul Min from Nxtasia about “The true meaning of localization”.

He showed up the process of sourcing and what skills do you need to be a “Golden supplier”. The process starts with the review current situation and ends with implementation. Between it there are the steps of supplier searching, RFQ, audit and sampling / testing. Most important is that you need to be strategic and that you can analyze the market and the competition.
