The China International Robot Show (CIROS) took place from 6th – 9th July 2016 in the National Exhibition and Convention Center Shanghai (NECC). VDMA joined the show with a VDMA Pavilion giving VDMA members the opportunity to exhibit together under the branding of the German Engineering Association.

Together with the VDMA Robotics+Automation association, VDMA has been supporting CIROS since the second show in 2013 with the organization of the CEO Roundtable and the international robotics summit, which are events that take place very year during the time of the exhibition. This year, CIROS took place for the 5th time. Since the beginning in 2012, the overall number of exhibitors and visitors has increased tremendously. CIROS not only promotes international robotics suppliers but especially supports the uprising local robotics manufacturers. The uniqueness of CIROS is that it combines industrial and service robots into one show. CIROS attracts, therefore, a high number of international and local customers from various industries every year.

This year - for the first time - VDMA joined the show with a VDMA Pavilion to represent together with VDMA members high-technology needed for the robotics industry. Four VDMA member companies – EUCHNER, Lapp Group, Lenze and Wittenstein – were exhibiting together under the branding of VDMA.

Media and visitors of the show were invited to visit the symposium organized by VDMA “VDMA Members present German Technologies” on the 2nd day of the show to learn from the exhibiting VDMA members about their newest technologies for the Chinese market.

VDMA looks back to a successful show and is already looking forward to the next CIROS in July, 2017.
