The VDMA sector association Electronics, Micro and New Energy Production Technologies (EMINT) which was founded in 2014, unites four topics. These four sector groups -, Battery Production, Micro Technologies, Photovoltaic Equipment and Productronic (electronics production) - are among the most innovative sub-sectors of mechanical engineering. The sector groups define and implement tailor-made activities for the respective sub-sectors.

These four special departments work together with their industrial partners on engineering solutions for tasks such as autonomous driving, renewable energies and electric mobility.

Furthermore, the working group Organic and Printed Electronics Association (OE-A) are closely assigned to the sector association. In this way EMINT pushs pioneering technologies in a comprehensive way.

Association Activities in China

In order to support EMINT members in China more strongly and connect them among each other on site, EMINT is organisator of the annual VDMA EMINT China Management Meeting. 26 participants from 14 VDMA member companies took part in the 1st VDMA EMINT China Management Meeting in Shanghai on November 27th 2018. The network event offers participants the opportunity to inform themselves about current topics in China and to establish and maintain a network of VDMA EMINT member companies represented in China.
In addition, there was a China Roadshow in May 2018, which was organized by the EMINT sector group battery production. The networking of VDMA member companies with China battery manufacturers was in the focus of the companies’ trip.
27 member companies joined the delegation in order to present their expertise along the process chain of battery production on-site. They had exclusive meetings with the largest Chinese battery manufacturers for electric mobility. The next China Roadshow is planned in 2020.

Trade Shows in China

The sector association EMINT initiates the German pavilion at various trade fairs in China and closely co-operates with the organizers, both in China and in Germany. It also staffs the information booth

Initiated German Pavilions are
  • CIBF (China International Battery Fair, Shenzhen)
  • Nepcon China (Shanghai)
  • Nepcon Asia (Shenzhen)
  • Semicon China (Shanghai)

In addition to its commitment to the German pavilions, the sector association is also represented in the conference programme of the SNEC PV Power Expo (International Photovoltaic Power Generation and Smart Energy Exhibition & Conference).
